Bringing a newborn home is both joyful and nerve-wracking. Here’s a quick guide to help you through those first precious months
- Feeding: Whether breastfeeding or formula, feed your baby every 2–3 hours. Watch for hunger cues like sucking fingers or crying.
- Bathing: Keep it simple—a sponge bath works until the umbilical cord stump falls off. Use lukewarm water and gentle baby soap.
- Diaper Changes: Expect 8–12 daily diaper changes, clean gently, and prevent rashes with cream.
- Sleep: Newborns sleep a lot—up to 16 hours a day! Always place them on their back for safe sleep.
- Bonding: Skin-to-skin contact and talking to your baby strengthen your bond and make them feel secure.
